JEROME KERN TRIBUTE – March 2011

A Trio-only tribute to Jerome Kern. Gigs in Cambridge, Dedham and Mendham. Some of my favourite Kern songs including the little-known waltz ‘Up With The Lark’, a classical-influenced rhapsodic ‘All The Things You Are’ plus Oscar’s fab version of ‘I’m Old Fashioned’. The second set featured our first stab at Beatles tunes, plus Oscar Peterson’s original ‘Rock Of Ages’ – what a finger workout!

Make Believe; Old Man River; Up With The Lark; All The Things You Are; The Way You Look Tonight; Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man; I’m Old Fashioned; A Fine Romance.

Michelle; Lady Madonna; On The Street Where You Live; You Make Me Feel Brand New; Rock Of Ages; Carolina Shout.

(This Masquerade; Meditation).
